| Descripción: | El siguiente artículo sintetiza la primera fase de un proyecto de investigación sobre la adquisición de la gramática del inglés como lengua extranjera en la Universidad de Costa Rica. A través de un cuestionario dirigido a un grupo de estudiantes, se encontró un alto grado de satisfacción general con el curso que acababan de terminar y con el libro de texto que utilizaron. Sin embargo, manifestaron que les hubiera gustado tener más tiempo para practicar los diferentes puntos gramaticales. A los estudiantes también se les preguntó si podían utilizar lo aprendido para hablar o escribir. La gran mayoría opinó que sí. Cuando se compararon esas opiniones con las de un grupo de sus profesores, se encontraron diferencias importantes ya que ellos señalaron falta de adquisición en varias áreas. This article summarizes the first part of a research project on the acquisition of L2 grammar at a university. A survey was used to collect data concerning the learners' degree of satisfaction with the grammar course they had just taken and with the textbook used. Results show that the students were very satisfied with both the course and the textbook but added that they needed more time to practice the grammar points. The students were also asked their opinions about whether they could use the grammar they were taught to communicate. Most of them stated that they could. When their opinions were compared to those of a group of their professors, important differences were found since instructors pointed out lack of acquisition in several areas. |
