Strategies to enhance the learning of a foreign language from the socioformation approach

Descripción:The socioformation is presented as an innovative educational approach that asks for in- creasing the skills of students to resolve the daily problems of society. The purpose of this paper was to analyze the problems of Learning a Foreign Language (known in Spanish as ALE) according to the challenges of the knowledge society and determine the com- ponents of socioformation that potentiate such learning. As a research methodology, a documentary analysis was done on the constituents of socioformation and the difficulties of ALE. The results of the analyzes determined that Problem Based Learning (known in Spanish as ABP) and learning through technology as components of socioformation potentialize the Learning of a Foreign Language. The main conclusion was that the com- ponents of socioformation are key to potentiate ALE, through the particular use of the principles of cognitive, metacognitive and affective learning combined with the methods of socioformation.
