Descripción:The objective of this research was to develop a preliminary analysis of the health situation of gastrostomized children and adolescents from the Enteral Nutrition Program at the Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition Home Service of Dr. Carlos Saenz Herrera National Children?s Hospital. A quantitative transversal descriptive approach was used in order to specify the characteristics and important features of the study population. Furthermore, this research was based on the evaluation of socio-demographic and biological dimensions. A total of 70 children and adolescents file out of the all population fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of these, a sample of 35 children and adolescents files was selected at convenience. Finally the study made evident that an adequate nursing process and the creation of links and strategies among nursing professionals, users and caregivers allow achievement of the proposed objectives efficiently and directly with each one of them by diminishing the hospital readmissions due to preventable causes.
