Descripción:Despite the historic commitment assumed by Costa Rica since the end of the 20th century to enforce the fundamental human rights of boys, girls and adolescents, child labor continues to be one of the debts pending resolution. Due to the informality conditions in which underage workers (PMET) work, their condition is less visible than other forms of violating legislation, present in the labor market and the national economy. The purpose of this research is to generate statistical data on the condition of child labor in the canton of Corredores, to serve as a baseline for the design of a local policy against child labor in the canton and to support the construction of other planfication instruments to positively impact this problem, which is very common in the border area of the country. Considering the lack of precise information on child labor in the area, the research resorted to primary sources, through different instruments that allow the collection of data and information on the problem as well as the perception of the different local actors regarding child labor.
