Descripción:This article presents the results of the analysis of the early childhood education policy in El Salvador, as well as its implementation.  The data collected was analyzed along eight dimensions specified in a conceptual framework. The purpose was to determine to what extent early childhood education in El Salvador was aligned with these best practices. This study concludes that early childhood education policy in El Salvador has made significant progress. Existing policies have been well designed. However, there are gaps in the implementation that include limited investments, deficiencies in pre-service teacher training and socioeconomic conditions of teachers, in addition to a lack of monitoring and evaluation.
